HERY’S GONE. At around 6 pm Saturday he boarded a flight back to Madagascar, back to his homeland. I think I speak for everyone when I say that we are all saddened. We lost not only a great petanque player—the best in the country—but also a dear friend. But life goes on. He promises to keep in touch. And if we are lucky enough, we will see him again in another place and another time, maybe in France or in Madagascar. And we will be playing petanque. We will always have petanque. That is Hery’s gift to us.
