LBNY at the Marseillaise 2008
It’s been one and a half weeks since the conclusion of Marseillaise 2008, which was won by Hernadez, Castano, and Hovaguimian. And it was an exciting few days for our club.
The early morning internet live broadcast from France 3. The anticipation of the day’s result on Boulistenaute. And the hope that our two members survived the day. So it was for 4 days.
And both Xavier Thibaud, playing with the Belgians Lozano and Tishon, and Alec Stone Sweet, with Gouast and Caumel, made it to the 1/16th finals of the Marseillaise. This is quite an amazing feat for an American petanque club.
In addition, Pierre Fieux, one of the founders of Boulistenaute, decided to follow two players in the Marseillaise for Boulistenaute, over the 5-day course of the tournament—Marco Foyot and Alec. He posted these features on the front page of the website every day.
