The outer edge of Hurricane Danny drizzled and then dumped rain onto the Singles tournament. It made the ground in Bryant Park into a pointer’s delight. Twenty-six players braved the bad weather. This was a far cry from last year’s 40 or so players who showed up for the tournament. But who can blame anyone for not coming. In the semis, Jean-Pierre Subrenat beat Charles Kossi and Thierry Julliard played a superb game to beat Ernesto Santos. In the final, JPS easily beat Thierry, 13-6.

  • 1st Jean-Pierre Subrenat
  • 2nd Thierry Julliard
  • 3rd Charles Amuzu Kossi, Ernesto Santos
