Memorial Tournament

A chilly day. Perfect marathon weather. Not sure about boules.
But 30 players in 10 melee triples teams braved the weather.
After 3 games, 4 teams qualified to the semifinals. JPS-Gustavo-Chris beat Ernesto-Mick-Bruce, 13-11; Keita-Amy-Michel took revenge for an ealier lost to Steve-Stephen-Martha.

Xavier, Eric, JPS Win the WCQT

IN A THRILLING GAME, coming down to the last boule, Team Xavier-Eric-JP rallied to win the FPUSA World Championship Qualification Tournament against Team Alec-Ti-PJ after being down 7-12.

In his Petanque America blog, Philippe has written a fine post on the results of the Europétanque d’Azur 2008, in which our own LBNY team, featuring Jean-Pierre Subrenat, Xavier Thibaud, and Eric Bertin, lasted into the 4th game (32th finals). Quiet a respectable showing.
